MH Inventory Specialist

Summary:

At the direction of the Materials Manager this position will receive ship distribute store account for inventory rotate stock and maintain all materials & supplies within the hospital store room.

Receives incoming order into the medical center accurately.

Perform thorough research and document inventory discrepancies using all available resources to identify root cause and supply possible solutions.

They will also assist the Materials Manager in all phases of inventory management.

This is a detail-oriented position.

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Receives incoming order into the medical center accurately and works with the team when there are receipt discrepancies to ensure that discrepancies are corrected.
  • Documents and communicates damage shipping errors and/or other discrepancies.
  • Checks Purchase Orders against packing slips and verifies both item quantities and sizes against material received.
  • Notes any discrepancies on packing slip and notifies Purchasing Department.
  • Complies with special instruction for internal delivery or special handling as specified on the purchase order.
  • Efficiently deliver items to proper locations and obtains proper signatures as needed.
  • Reports all questionable orders to immediate supervisor.
  • Communicates regularly with supervisor regarding workflow problems and opportunities for cost containment.
  • Along with the store room personnel documents potential stock outs and identifies obsolete and expired products.
  • Maintains work area and storage areas in orderly condition free from fire and safety hazard.
  • Utilizes and maintains proper material handling equipment while performing assigned tasks to ensure safe delivery.
  • Perform cycle counting process and assure accurate results uncovering necessary recounts and processes to be monitored and improved. Record adjustments and provide regular reports on the results of the counts.
  • Physically performs full physical inventories. Works in conjunction with team on all inventories.
  • Perform thorough research and document inventory discrepancies using all available resources to identify root cause and supply possible solutions.
  • Prepares outgoing material for shipping including all returns. Assures that packages are properly labeled and that a purchase order return goods authorization and/or materials disposition accompanies each package.
  • Assists in storeroom filling orders stocking shelves special projects inventories and rotating stock.
  • Cross-trained for all store room job related functions house wide to include all processes involved in receipts issues deliveries.
  • Works with Team Members to effectively implement process improvements to operational procedures.
  • Execute all warehouse duties with an emphasis on accuracy efficiency and safety.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:



  • 3 years' experience in warehousing and/or a distribution type environment with at least 2-years in inventory management required
  • Knowledge and complete understanding of the procurement process. Experience with shipping receiving and distribution functions required.


  • 1-2 years prior experience using an automated inventory control preferred.
  • 1 year hands-on experience with supply management and establishing par levels preferred.

  • Ability to perform the physical demands of the position.


EDUCATION:



  • High school diploma GED or equivalent in related specific on-the-job experience.
