Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Lead, Corporate Solutions & Capabilities for the Innovation Office, reporting directly to the Chief Innovation Officer while also supporting Corporate Business Development.

JOB SUMMARY

The Lead, Corporate Solutions & Capabilities will be a key strategic leader, responsible for driving innovative, competitive, and winning solutions for new and existing business opportunities. The individual will play a critical role in positioning Astrion as a leader in the government contracting space, with a focus on expanding capabilities and securing successful wins.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in developing solution strategies that align with customer needs, building relationships across technical teams, and maintaining a robust capability catalog. This individual will need a demonstrated track record of achieving winning solutions, a deep understanding of technical requirements in government contracting, and the ability to build rapport quickly with technical experts and stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop Winning Solutions: Lead the development and expansion of Astrion's solution architecture practice, managing a team that creates tailored, and compelling technical solutions in support of Astrion's business development and capture efforts.
  • Lead Solution Architects Community of Practice: Elevate the organization's solution architecture capabilities by fostering professional growth, enhancing technical skills, and driving collaboration among solution architects and subject matter experts to advance future offerings.
  • Augment, Manage and Communicate Capabilities: Establish, manage, and continuously refine a comprehensive capability catalog that showcases Astrion's technical expertise, solutions, and competencies, and facilitate the communication of those capabilities across Astrion, and particularly within the growth community. Work with MARCOM team for development of slick sheets, and 2 page capability sheets for public distribution.
  • Rapid Relationship Building: Quickly establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal technical teams, subject matter experts, capture and proposal personnel, and key stakeholders to ensure the successful development and execution of solution strategies.
  • Strategic Intellectual Property and Capability Management: Drive innovation by identifying and documenting emerging solutions, ensuring they are strategically positioned to meet evolving market demands. Actively pursue trademark and intellectual property opportunities to protect and differentiate these offerings in the marketplace. Leverage the three-horizon framework to continuously assess and align current capabilities with long-term innovation goals, ensuring the organization remains at the forefront of industry trends while addressing both immediate and future customer needs.
  • Market and Competitive Analysis: Stay informed about current trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscapes within the government contracting and defense sectors, leveraging insights to inform solution strategies.
  • Coordinate Innovation Partnerships: Engage with government customers, industry partners and research institutions to understand mission requirements, gather intelligence, and position innovative solutions to meet their needs effectively.
  • Organizational Skills: Maintain a high level of organization in managing multiple solution development efforts simultaneously, while tracking progress, timelines, and deliverables.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in solution architecture or related roles within the federal government sector. An emphasis on the defense sector preferred.
  • Demonstrated Wins: Proven track record of developing winning technical solutions for federal customers, with an emphasis on competitive pursuits within the DoD preferred.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of federal sector technologies, mission needs, and emerging trends, as well as the ability to translate technical capabilities into winning solutions.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence stakeholders, and drive technical excellence across solutioning efforts.
  • Relationship Building: Proven ability to rapidly build relationships with technical experts, stakeholders, and partners. Exhibit a strong sense of curiosity, continuously seeking to learn about new technologies, government contracting trends, and emerging capabilities.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in STEM field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex solutions clearly and effectively.
  • Security Clearance: Active security clearance (or the ability to obtain one) is preferred.
