The USC Alfred E. Mann School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Titus Family Department of Clinical Pharmacy, is seeking an experienced Project Coordinator to support the administrative and research activities for the newly established Program in Medicines and Public Health. This program focuses on the development and expansion of several research initiatives focusing on access to medications, drug utilization and pharmaceutical policy. This position will include coordination and planning of research and programming activities within the program, and will also involve scientific components; namely, to co-write scientific manuscripts and grants.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Coordinating and planning meetings
  • Researching funding opportunities and identifying support agencies
  • Coordinating and engaging with specialized grant writers
  • Preparing and tracking grant application materials
  • Managing timelines and deliverables
  • Tracking the results
  • Analyzing financial data
  • Preparing grant report materials
  • Interfacing with financial analysts
  • Planning and implementing grant-supported projects
  • Developing an evaluation method to assess program strengths and
  • Coordinating communication among faculty, staff, and students
  • Assisting in writing scientific reports and manuscripts
  • Manage the submission of manuscripts to scientific journals
  • Maintain website

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge of research design and experience with research projects.
  • Excellent writing skills, particularly scientific writing (professional journals, posters, summaries, etc.)
  • Excellent computer literacy: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of WordPress is helpful.
  • Highly organized with a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow and communicate complex instructions and directions.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and schedule multiple work assignments.
  • Ability to follow-up and resolve problems arising from routine situations.
  • Ability to analyze and present data in graphs and spreadsheets
  • Good public relations -- good interpersonal skills with managers and administrative staff.
  • Highly professional demeanor, ability to provide a good representation of USC to outside sources and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.

Preferred Education:

  • Master's Degree highly desirable. A minimum of two years of experience working in research-related projects required.

The hourly rate range for this position is $39.00 - $42.56. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.

The position is available for 1-year and renewable contingent on successful progress and available funding.
