Summary:

This independently licensed masters-level clinician will be part of the Bradley Hospital Early Childhood Research and Services Department and will provide infant and early childhood mental health consultation (IECMHC) for community-based programs serving children birth to five years. Opportunities to be involved in other projects/programs within Early Childhood Research and Services (e.g. outpatient clinic) may be available based on clinician*s interest and experience as well as available openings and funding.

Responsibilities:

Full or part time position working within a team dedicated to infant and early childhood mental health and consultation in community settings. Primary responsibility is as an infant and early childhood mental health consultant. Consultation is provided o center-based early learning programs family child care providers and family visiting programs throughout Rhode Island. Consultation across these settings will be provided to program staff and families to address behavioral health concerns promotion of child social and emotional development and program policy.

Consultation is provided in a combination of virtual formats and on-site in service programs.

Given the communities served a component of this position is to think with us about strategies for ensuring equitable access to services and appropriate adaptations to programming.

Opportunities for program development and program evaluation activities may be available.

Supported to attend the Social Work and Counseling Department staff meetings and meets all responsibilities related to the social work department.

May provide clinical supervision and/or consultation to social work/counseling staff master*s students and other trainees or staff as arranged with the manager.

May participate in the MSW/LMHC training program and in providing staff development as arranged with the Director of Social Work and Counseling.

May implement other administrative teaching and training functions as delegated and agreed upon by Program Chief and Director of Social Work and Counseling.

Observes all hospital policies rules and regulations.

Performs other duties as necessary.

EDUCATION:

Masters Degree from an accredited school of social work or related field.

Must be a RI Licensed Independent Social Worker (LICSW) a RI Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or RI Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

EXPERIENCE:

Two to five years of experience working with children birth to five years of age and their caregivers preferred.

Applicants with a knowledge of early childhood development early childhood mental health and early childhood service settings including education settings are strongly preferred.

Experience working in and/or consulting to community settings preferred especially early care and education settings.

Valid driver*s license and own car to travel between community sites (compensation for mileage).

Flexibility and comfort with both virtual and in-person service delivery models.

Individuals who are multilingual preferred; priority will be given to applicants who speak English and Spanish.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

May provide functional guidance to others who may be assigned on a project basis.
