Online Instructional Designer

The Department of Medicine, within the Institute for Clinical Research Education (ICRE) is looking for an innovative instructional designer to assist in the design and development of online courses for training programs clinical and translational science. In the timeline of 2 years the incumbent will help to create a series of online training modules each of which is focused around an area of professional competency essential for success in a scientific research career. These modules will be designed to meet the unique needs of underrepresented early career faculty and postdocs.

The position requires strong skills in course design, aesthetics, educational technology, and project management. The instructional designer must be able to do the following:

- Research-based course design principles to help faculty create robust and engaging instructional materials
- Present online content in a manner that is clean, organized, visually interesting, and aesthetically appealing as well as pedagogically sound
- Be comfortable learning from and working with a range of learning management systems, authoring tools, and educational technologies
- Manage multiple projects, including identifying steps, creating timelines, monitoring incoming work, and maintaining an organized and efficient system for tracking progress
