The Creighton University Athletic Department is now accepting applications for the position of Athletic Equipment Manager. This position will report to the Assistant Athletic Director for Administration. Creighton, located in Omaha, Nebraska, competes in NCAA Division I as a member of the BIG EAST Conference.

The Athletic Equipment manager will be responsible for purchasing, management, distribution, collection and storage of athletic equipment. This individual will also be tasked with developing and managing the process for laundry services, including scheduling and managing the maintenance of laundry equipment and any other equipment needed to maintain the equipment room(s).

  • Assist in management of team and department's equipment: this includes inventory management, distribution, and repair and maintenance, and adherence to brand, department and NCAA guidelines.
  • Train and supervise team managers and work study students on equipment and laundry practices and procedures.
  • Assistant in the management of each team's equipment budget.
  • Prepare locker rooms for visiting teams and officials.


Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree
* 2years experience in collegiate sports, professional sports or equipment and inventory management

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Excellent organization skills and ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
* Detail oriented for accuracy of information collected and given to coaches and student-athletes
* Strong initiative to solve problems and engage in positive interactions with coaches and student-athletes
* The ability to work evenings and weekends is required
* Knowledge of NCAA rules

Preferred
* Prior experience in an athletic equipment room
* Experience with budget management
* Working knowledge of ordering from Nike, Adidas, Under Armour or other apparel and shoe provider systems

Licenses/Certifications:

* Valid Driver's License
* Athletic Equipment Managers Association certification or ability to become certified in 12-18 months

Individual pay is determined by several factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education.
