Job Description

The School of Medicine - Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is seeking a highly motivated, engaged, and committed Office Support Assistant III who is interested in joining a fast-paced, highly productive team.

Our Orthopaedic service talent teams include: Attending Physicians, Fellow/Resident Physicians, Extender Practitioners, Nurses, ATC/OTCs, Clinical Administrative Coordinators, Research Faculty, Research Technical Teams, and Students. Our clinicians have clinical locations in Columbia, Jefferson City, Boonville, Liberty, and Springfield. The ideal candidate will play an instrumental role in the success of sustaining our department's mission: advance the clinical, research and teaching components of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Missouri.

This position will partner with departmental staff to support the overall culture and advancement of the Missouri Orthopaedic Institute and C3 Orthopaedics Initiative (Comprehensive, Cutting Edge, Caring Culture), which fosters a fast learning and continuously improving organization to further our mission.

Position overview:
* This position helps provide department clinical staff coverage.
* Build and grow credibility, relationships and understanding of Department personnel to ensure optimal administrative and clinical support.
* Assist with department strategies while supporting various teams to ensure long-term success.
* Monitor and assist with patient care workflow in an outpatient clinic setting, make scheduling adjustments as necessary, and coordinate patients' ancillary services' appointments.
* Assist with clinical scribing duties as requested
* Process multiple types of patient requests and inquiries, including yet not limited to health care concerns, information about their physician and /or nurse, schedule or change care appointments, paperwork (work excuse, orders, FMLA, etc.), and all other non-emergent requests.
* Relay/triage patients' messages and concerns independently and effectively to care team. Enter data into departmental electronic files, databases and/or spreadsheets.
* Assist with various administrative responsibilities including but not limited to maintaining curriculum vitae and tracking CMEs, conference schedules, research support, medical legal requests including invoicing, and physician calendaring.

Shift

Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $12.73 - $18.02 Hourly
