GENERAL SUMMARY: The primary role of the Medical Radiographer is using medical imaging equipment to produce images of tissues, organs, bones, and vessels. Performs diagnostic medical ultrasound imaging exams to assist with the diagnosis of disease and study of the malfunction of organs. Radiographers are equipped with the technological skills to handle imaging equipment and the interpersonal skills necessary for patient care. PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from an approved school of Radiologic Technology, Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.Must be registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). Bachelor of Science degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography is preferred. One year of radiologic/imaging/ultrasound experience preferred but not required. OTHER CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATIONS: Current BLS certification, or complete within 6 months of hire. |
