Hourly Wage: $15.25/hour minimum; typical pay rate range is 15.25-17.50 an hour; pay rate dependent on role and qualifications of candidate. Location: Anywhere within Minnesota at local, regional locations and non-office locations; in-person work. Appointment: Temporary (less than 67 days in a calendar year) or Casual (less than 14 hours a week) hourly positions, not eligible for University benefits This is a continuous job post. The availability of these positions fluctuate throughout the year and are in specific counties in the state of Minnesota. This does not constitute a posting for vacancies, but establishes a pool of applicants should openings occur between October 2024 - April 2025. Applicants will be selected from this pool on an as-needed basis. Appointments are based on need, funding, and performance. Throughout the year University of Minnesota Extension, needs to hire people to serve in various capacities. These positions could be at local and regional locations anywhere in the state of Minnesota, indoors or outdoors, and require different knowledge, skills, and abilities. The positions could be working days, evenings, or weekends. They could also involve work up to 10 hours a day and overnight stays. Some of the jobs also require frequent physical exertions of lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying certain objects of weight, as well as standing for long periods of time. The type of work can range anywhere from helping at a food stand to assisting with educational programming. The minimum starting hourly pay rate is $15.25 per hour, and will depend on the position and the qualifications required of that specific job. The job classifications could be temporary (67 days or less in a calendar year) or casual (less than 14 hours/week) for a set duration or ongoing. Depending upon the specific job, there may or may not be overtime and carry no University benefits. If the position is to fill a temporary need for a certain duration, it might provide some benefits and have a different job classification.
