About the Job

Job Responsibilities/Duties:
*Conduct experiments inducing radiation and burn injuries to the skin in laboratory animals.
*Perform histological analysis of skin tissue from laboratory animals and patients post-injury.
*Utilize immunohistochemical and immunofluorescent imaging to identify changes in cell phenotypes after injury.
*Conduct microscopy of tissue sections for cellular quantification.
*Prepare skin tissue samples for single-cell spatial transcriptomic analysis of gene expression following radiation and burn injury.
*Carry out iPSC differentiation experiments under the influence of light.
*Participate in clinical trials related to allergy, immunology, rheumatology, or wound healing.

This positions is a .60 FTE.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
* PhD in Biological Sciences, Neuroscience, or related.
*Previous laboratory experience, specifically working with skin primary and stem cells.
*Proficiency in sterile techniques and molecular biology, including RNA preparation and analysis.
*Strong skills in immunohistology with skin biopsies.
*Familiarity with advanced microscopy techniques for cellular imaging.

Preferred Qualifications:
*MD degree

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $56,484 (Year 0) - $68,604 (Year 7); depending on education/qualifications/experience, per NIH Guidelines.
