PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Portfolio Manager for Global Insulation is responsible for delivering robust management systems and portfolio analysis across the Insulation businesses facilitating strategic decisions from leadership to advance the businesses growth agenda and long-term goals. This role will advance the portfolio management systems for use by product management and R&D teams across all businesses and the enterprise and leverage strong global and cross-functional relationships working in close collaboration with other portfolio managers and GIS and across the NA and EU Insulation R&D and Marketing organizations. As a liaison between functions and leader in their space, the Global Portfolio Manager will ensure effective use of current management systems, identify, and develop new systems to advance our capabilities, processes and data, and analyze and report portfolio value and metrics with recommendations to guide project and resource allocation decisions.

Span of Control: Individual Contributor. Leads self. Influences across enterprise.

Location: Granville or Toledo preferred. Hybrid optional. Travel as appropriate to maximize effectiveness and impact.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Living Safely



  • Focuses on sustaining a safe work environment for self and colleagues.

Develops, Implements, and Maintains Portfolio Management Systems for Global Insulation



  • Connects across the organization and externally to identify opportunities to advance the company's portfolio management systems aligned to strategy and goals
  • Partners with portfolio managers and GIS to modify existing or develop new deliverables, processes, and systems
  • Documents processes and tools to support training and user experience
  • Educates others on proper use of management system tools
  • Leverages software improvement choices to ensure maintenance of and effective use of management systems.


Manages Global Insulation Portfolio



  • Connects across Insulation R&D and Marketing organizations for all Insulation businesses and in NA and EU regions to manage comprehensive and active portfolio
  • Serves as process leader/facilitator for Insulation PRBs and Technology Development Steering Teams to guide decision making and portfolio analysis
  • Provides guidance to project teams based on extensive knowledge of our processes
  • Provides recommendations to R&D and Marketing Leadership including R&D VP and Strategic Marketing VP based on current portfolio standing.



Portfolio Analysis & Reporting



  • Collaborates with R&D, Marketing, and CoE leadership to establish portfolio metrics.
  • Connects Velocity data to Power BI Reporting for automation of portfolio analysis and reporting to support internal decisions and external investor communications.
  • Creates Auditable Portfolio Reports and supports leader and project team accountabilities for accurate and timely data input.
  • Influences reporting visualizations to drive decision making and regularly reports on portfolio including resource allocation, value of initiatives, Sustainability, and I&D.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



  • B.S. with minimum 5 years' experience in IT, systems design, finance, project and portfolio management.
  • 3+ years' experience in portfolio design and project management tools specifically the Velocity system which is Owens Corning's version of Accolade by Sopheon and Power BI. OC knowledge of plant productivity and Financial business cases preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in the areas of portfolio systems management and data visualization is preferred.
  • Demonstrated project management effectiveness in R&D and/or Manufacturing environments is preferred (but not required).



PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:



  • Demonstrated project management effectiveness in R&D and/or manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of business finance and experience with business cases.
  • Experience working and influencing across functions and across regions
