JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Animal Science Department in the College of Agricultural Sciences at Penn State is seeking a Horse Farm Manager. The position will be responsible for daily care and management of a herd of 70+ horses used for teaching, research and extension programs. Specific duties include:
Education and Experience: Requires a bachelor's degree in animal or equine science plus 3 years of equine and farm management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The ability to communicate effectively with staff and students is necessary. Basic computer and record keeping skills required. This position requires the following clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicles records check will be required in addition to the above clearances.
