Senior Scientist III - Phage Biologist

Culmen International is seeking a Senior Scientist III - Phage Biologist to join our team in Silver Springs, Maryland.

The senior scientist III - phage biologist shall have expertise in bacteriophage biology, bacteriophage characterization, bacteriophage therapeutics discovery development, and bacteriophage cocktail formulation.

The Senior Scientist III - Phage Biologist is responsible for:

Performing a variety of laboratory procedures and works as part of a scientific team to advance the understanding of biological questions to contribute to the advancement of product development
• Shall be familiar with the concepts, practices, and procedures in fields such as bacteriophage, microbiology, molecular biology, immunology, clinical trials, bioinformatics, and pathogen discovery
• Actively pursues the scientific objectives of the WID and contributes significantly to the planning of future studies.
• Leads the analysis of collected data; writes proposals and manuscripts; solicits grants (e.g., track record of funded grant proposals); establishes collaborations with other entities (e.g., universities); presents data at meetings; and supervises the activities of personnel under their guidance.
• Must be self-motivated and capable of working independently
• The senior scientist III is granted a wide degree of creativity and latitude and typically reports to a unit or department head

• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)
• 10 years of experience in a designated field (e.g., phage biology, microbiology, bacteriophage therapeutics discovery and development, bacteriophage cocktail formulation).
