Position Summary Conduct remote clinical assessments for Single Session Counseling (SSC) service for students. Single Sessions are singular, 30 minute, solution focused sessions for matriculated NYU students whose issues are not urgent or emergent and who are not seeking a traditional course of therapy. May be required to respond to urgent and emergency situations with students and provide counseling and crisis intervention on evenings and/or weekends including availability for 24 hour on call coverage, to a lesser degree, on an as needed basis. Qualifications Required Education:
Master's Degree in Social Work/Psychology and LMSW, or Master's degree in Nursing with specialization in mental health and/or substance abuse. Preferred Education: Master's Degree advanced training/research in suicide prevention and sexual assault cases. Required Experience: 3+ years clinical case management experience in a trauma setting or mobile crisis response unit (e.g., hospital emergency room, community mental health center, or similar community based organization) addressing depression, suicidology, sexual assault cases, substance abuse and emotional and other psychological issues. Experience assessing students with suicidal ideation. Preferred Experience: 3+ years experience working with diverse adolescent or college population managing treatment. Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent interpersonal, listening, verbal and written communication skills. Familiarity with research on mental health needs of college students including suicide prevention. Additional Information In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $78,000.00 to USD $98,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
