Job Summary

The Manufacturing Technician will be responsible for assembly and testing of specialized monitoring equipment for the Navy.

What You Will Do
  • Assemble complex electromechanical systems from detailed assembly drawings and process instructions, using precision tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, wire strippers, crimpers, torque wrenches).
  • Configure pneumatic and hydraulic test stands, including setup with multimeters, frequency generators, amplifiers, gauss meters, insulation resistance and dielectric meters, and data acquisition equipment per specifications.
  • Prepare and apply RTV, potting compounds, paints, and cements to assemblies.
  • Evaluate product returns against specifications for non-conformities.
  • Actively support Key Performance Indicators:
    • Quality: reduce defects and rework
    • Schedule: meet production deadlines
    • Budget: complete tasks within allocated hours
  • Adaptable to changing work environments, able to work independently, and may provide guidance to other technicians.
  • Interpret and follow written standards (ISO procedures, SOPs, MIL Specs, safety rules).
  • Interface effectively with departments such as Quality and Testing for smooth workflow.
Education & Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience in the field or a related area.
  • Proven ability to effectively coordinate multiple activities simultaneously, with flexibility to adjust priorities in response to dynamic operational requirements.
  • Team-oriented with strong listening and written communication skills; proficient in MS Office.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting complex assembly drawings, wire lists, and written process instructions.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing is preferred.
  • Excellent mechanical skills required.
  • Experienced in the safe handling of chemicals.
  • Experience in coil winding, spot welding, and brazing is a plus.
  • U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
