Department Information

The Center for Inclusive Design and Innovation (CIDI) is a Service and Research Supercenter. With its rich history of providing accessible solutions to an underserved community, CIDI has positioned itself as a leader in accessibility and inclusion. CIDI is committed to promoting technological innovation; developing user-centered research, products, and services for individuals with disabilities; and addressing unmet needs in higher education, government, non-profits, and corporations by providing accessible and inclusive environments for all.

Maintaining vast and dynamic partnerships across and off the Georgia Tech campus allows CIDI to continue to expand its expertise and further advocate for accessibility.

Job Summary

Provide strategic and tactical business oversight, management and support for the assigned school/department's research and building operations, faculty engagement and research programs, and/or sponsored projects and externally sponsored programs. Areas of responsibilities include but may not be limited to: building occupancy and operations, marketing and communications, internal and external partnerships, faculty outreach and engagement, and research program thought leadership.

Responsible for setting employee goals, assessing employee performance, providing feedback, and making pay recommendations.

This position will interact on a consistent basis with: Executive and senior leadership, academic and research faculty, staff, and external and internal clients

This position typically will advise and counsel: Executive and senior leadership, staff, and faculty

This position will supervise: Assigned faculty and/or staff

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 - Participate in the master planning, development, and execution of integrated research: plans, services, education capabilities, enablement, funding, finance, and accounting, building and space utilization, staffing, and operational plans that support, promote, and expand the capabilities of the assigned school/department
Job Duty 2 - Lead in the development of internal and external communication and marketing efforts that promote the department's activities and shared user facilities' capabilities to internal and external audiences
Job Duty 3 - Oversee and manage finance, administration, and building/event support operations for the assigned school/department and associated centers or programs as appropriate
Job Duty 4 - Partner with various internal and external clients to develop opportunities for new research and/or revenue programs
Job Duty 5 - Oversee and provide business program management support for assigned school/department's research efforts and/or sponsored projects
Job Duty 6 - May negotiate contracts and submit budgets to current and potential clients/sponsors
Job Duty 7 - Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Oversee three units at Center for Inclusive Design and Innovation (CIDI), including Digital Accessibility, Tools for Life, and Student Accommodation Management.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Sciences, Engineering, or Business Management or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience
Five or more years of job-related experience

Proposed Salary

Salary Range: $115,184-$156,651

o Ability to walk for extended periods of time; ability to stand and/or sit for extended periods; May
require some intermittent evening and weekend work, particularly during peak times; shift work
may be required
