ABOUT THE POSITION

Support the Risk Management Department in Credit Union initiatives to include regulatory risk duties, business continuity, and assist in the development and maintenance of a strong Second Line of Defense monitoring and issues management program, and to ensure that all credit union rules and regulations requirements are met.

NORMAL DAY-TO-DAY WORK

  1. Keep abreast of, monitor and analyze developing trends and changes in regulatory compliance laws, rules and regulations and assists in the determination of operational impacts. and the development of implementation plans.
  2. Assist with the execution of the Risk and Compliance Second Line of Defense risk monitoring program, to include policies, procedures, conducting interviews with personnel as needed, and evaluating first line controls.
  3. Addresses and responds to staff risk management program questions as needed.
  4. Conduct and/or work with Learning and Development to create and present risk related staff training as needed.
  5. Properly track exceptions observed in the Second Line of Defense monitoring in Ncontractssystem for issues management remediation as well as other operational or compliance-related issues within the credit union. Prepare summary reports to convey results of the Second Line of Defense monitoring.
  6. Support the efforts to maintain the Credit Union's enterprise-wide business continuity plan (BCP) and any impact analysis and critical function procedures.
  7. Works with the SVP and VP of Compliance and Risk Management to complete annual insurance renewals for the Credit Union and affiliates.
  8. Works with management to facilitate and maintain all annual risk assessments to include working with business owners in effectively reviewing, and challenge risk and controls. .
  9. Take ownership for actions, decisions, and results; openly accept feedback and demonstrate both the willingness and ability to improve.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Here are a few skills you MUST have to be qualified for this position.

  1. Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in risk management or compliance, or BA/BS degree in Business or related field with a minimum of 1-3 years of experience in risk management or compliance.
  2. Excellent analytical ability and ability to conduct thorough research, interpret and understand laws and regulations and provide workable recommendations and solutions to problems.
  3. Well-organized, efficient, detail-oriented self-starter, able to work independently.
  4. Ability to handle simultaneously multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  5. The ability to work with all levels of management, staff and members
  6. Ability to function in a Consumer business office environment and utilize standard office equipment including but not limited to: PC, copier, telephone, etc.
  7. Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. (file boxes, computer).
  8. Travel required on occasion.

Here are a few qualities we'd LIKE for you to have to make you more suited for this position.

  1. BA/BS degree in Business or related field.
  2. NAFCU Certified Compliance Officer or industry equivalent designation or willing to obtain within two years of hire.
  3. Have or willing to obtain NAFCU's Certified Risk Manager designation
