This position entails executing duties associated with system and network administration for NIPR, SIPR and JWICS networks along with tasks associated with an Information Systems Security Manager. Position plays a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity and security of the organization's network architecture. The ideal candidate will possess expert knowledge in information systems, proficiently maneuvering through cross-domain environments while adhering to strict compliance regulations. Furthermore, they will drive the development and optimization of information-sharing solutions to enhance the collaborative environment within the organization, ensuring all systems operate seamlessly and securely. Primary Responsibilities:
Network Infrastructure Development: Develop VISIO and Microsoft Project documentation to detail network infrastructure configurations and manage the procurement and installation of NIPR, SIPR, JWICS and Tactical System Emulator Networks, ensuring systems meet operational and unit needs.
Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM): Implement security strategies and protocols to guard against threats, including malware and other malevolent activities and coordinate security compliance efforts, perform risk assessments, and develop recommendations for risk remediation.
Knowledge Management Solutions: Analyze and streamline internal processes, implementing knowledge management solutions to enhance collaborative environments on NIPR, SIPR and JWICS platforms and act as a focal point for maintaining and updating the unit's portal pages, enhancing user experience and access to information.
Documentation and Compliance Assurance: Create essential documentation, including security control outlines, security operations procedures, TEMPEST addendums, and detailed network diagrams and coordinate the procurement of essential network equipment such as racks, switches, and fiber optic cables, ensuring all components perform optimally.
Additional Responsibilities:
Physical Infrastructure Oversight: Review power, HVAC and server room requirements for optimal infrastructure performance and assist in implementing access control and monitor intrusion detection systems within secure areas, ensuring compliance with security protocols.
IT Equipment Management: Maintain and track assigned IT equipment (desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and printers) and manage user accounts, including creation, modification, and deletion of access rights and troubleshoot and manage issues concerning IT equipment and support end users in utilizing IT resources effectively.
Administrative Functions and Support: Support administrative functions, ensuring information flow and life-cycle management of data and manage and approve content for publication through various platforms, ensuring compliance with mandated guidelines.
Required Qualifications:
TS/SCI clearance, with the potential requirement for access to Special Access Program (SAP) information and completion of any necessary security screenings. Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field and 6+ years of relevant experience. With no degree, at least 10 years of relevant experience is required. CompTIA Security+. Strong understanding of NIPR, SIPR, and JWICS network environments, with hands-on experience in managing these system; network security principles; including firewalls; intrusion detection systems; and encryption technologies. Demonstrated ability to analyze complex systems, troubleshoot technical issues proficiently, and propose innovative solutions to improve operational efficiency Experience with secure network design and implementation.
Proficiency with network protocols; operating systems; hardware troubleshooting; network administration tools and security protocols, including risk management frameworks, configuration management, and vulnerability scanning tools.
Experience with scripting and automation. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with information security frameworks, such as NIST RMF, data security and privacy compliance, knowledge management systems and tools, portal development and web technologies, software development methodologies and tools, project management methodologies and tools, training and documentation development, and working in a fast-paced, demanding environment. Knowledge of DoD information security policies and regulations.
