ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Shore Crew Laborer is responsible for work associated with the operation of the fill site, including the support equipment and project site equipment. May consist of work with Bull Gang, mobilization, and demobilization, working with heavy equipment operators, and Fill Site Foreman. This position is heavily labor-intensive and may consist of rope handling, equipment operation, painting, and general duties as assigned. This position is under the direct supervision of the Fill Site Foreman * Acts as signal person for equipment operators * Cleaning of pumps/cutters, utilizing small hand tools * Assisting in installation of pipelines over the water and onshore, including loading and unloading * Maintaining housekeeping on fill site, watching for trip hazards * Inspect shore pipe for leaks and assists with work on the pipe * Performs other related duties as assigned * Participates in Safety and Environmental initiatives that will contribute to compliance of State/Federal regulations and improve existing Company programs. QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS The employee must have: * 1 year experience as a Shoreman / Shore Crew Laborer preferred * Ability to work as directed and get your work done timely and correctly * Must have good communication skills * Must be reliable and motivated * Ability to comply with safety rules and regulations * Ability to travel and work away from home at remote project locations for extended durations * Must be reliable and motivated * Ability to obtain TWIC * Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors * Competencies: stress management/composure, teamwork, results driven PREFERRED SKILLS PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation. The individual must also be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required. This includes hard hat, safety glasses, life vest, respirators, ear plugs, steel toed shoes, personal flotation devices (PFD's), or other protective equipment as required by the work performed and location the work is being done. In addition, a Shore Crew Laborer must also be capable of: * Walking, stepping, climbing, or otherwise moving from one location on the job site to another, which may be of varying heights and access parameters. * Standing, stooping, twisting, bending, crouching, kneeling, squatting, climbing, or sitting repetitively and/or for long periods of time. * Repetitive movements by feet, shoulders, arms, wrists, hands and back in performance of work. |
