A Brief Overview The Sr. System Analyst is a valued member of an agile technology team, they partner with the Product Manager to understand upcoming work based on product backlog and roadmap and break down projects into epics and user stories for Developers and Testers. The Sr. System Analyst partners with the application Technical Lead to understand application specifications and configuration and collaborates with the agile team to assist with technical design and write user stories that include detailed technical requirements to create or modify an application to meet business objectives. The Sr. System Analyst has deep understanding of both the business domain/impacted stakeholder groups, and technical product or application, including upstream/downstream impacts. The Sr. System Analyst may collaborate with other technology teams to align requirements and dependencies for upcoming projects. The Sr. System Analyst investigates incidents or issues to determine the functional cause, using SQL or other tools to query databases, review log files and application telemetry, and inspecting JSON/XML messages for interfaces. The Sr. System Analyst creates ad hoc reports and dashboards using application data and other sources for IT Leadership, stakeholders, and partners. The Sr. System Analyst examines and document current state system configurations and configures SaaS products or Safelite applications. What you will do
Write requirements, including epics and user stories, based on Product Manager direction and technical knowledge; including business rules, acceptance criteria, data and infosec requirements, non-functional requirements, accessibility, and integration requirements Collaborate with Product Manager to understand upcoming work for the product/applications, including business objectives, goals, client requests, user needs, etc. Collaborate with Tech Lead and technical team to understand product/application design, components, integrations, tech debt, etc; understand the technical design of the application, upstream/downstream systems and contracts (payloads and methods), data required and produced by the application and data required to validate a change Lead story estimation with the technical team, sharing requirements, and answering questions; lead "Three Amigo" discussions for user stories with Developer and Tester before the work is started Manage and maintain the product backlog (in Jira or similar tool) Represent the product/application to others as SME to answer questions and collaborate on projects, including IT leadership, business stakeholders, Product and UX teams, and upstream/downstream technology teams Investigate production incidents and pre-production issues by querying databases, reviewing log files, inspect JSON/XML messages, etc. Create reports and dashboards using system data and other data sources Create and maintain product/application documentation, such as as-is and to-be process models, system context diagram, production support materials, onboarding, and help guides in Confluence (and other tools) Vendor communication, collaboration, and coordination Analyze document current state system configurations and configure SaaS products or Safelite applications Effectively communicates status and expectation changes without prompting; communicates accurately about technical aspects of their work; communicates with stakeholders about expectations to avoid surprises Understand and evaluate requirements, their purpose, and impact to the business; understands key business stakeholders and their motivations as it affects their team's application Understand their team's product and technology roadmaps and can articulate their team's top priorities Understands their team's upstream and downstream dependencies for production support and project dependencies Backup for the Scrum Master, lead and facilitate daily standups, sprint planning, etc.; regularly observes team practices and processes to suggest improvements Actively participates in team meetings, including daily standups, sprint planning, sprint review, backlog grooming, demos, and retros Regularly influences within team and can help guide toward a decision Production release validation activities Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all policies and standards

4-6 years Relevant experience Required Experience with software development, life-cycle and implementation methodologies Required Experience working in teams that follow agile methodology, Scrum, Kanban, Scrum-Ban Required Experience with Jira and Confluence, or similar tool Required Experience creating as-is and to-be process models Required Experience writing detailed requirements for Software Engineers and Testers Required Experience explaining complex technology concepts/decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences Required Experience analyzing and document current state system configurations Required Experience using SQL and other tools to query databases Required Experience with Postman or equivalent tool to review JSON/XML payloads Required Experience querying and analyzing log files and utilizing application telemetry/monitoring tools Required Experience configuring SaaS or custom applications Preferred Experience with ServiceNow for Incident, Change, and Request Preferred
