LSSI is hiring a full-time Therapeutic Foster Care Child Therapist, Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm. Responsible for providing the full range of therapeutic services to children in the Treatment Foster Care Program in accordance with the integrated assessment, permanency plan, and assessed therapeutic needs of the child as well as provide services within the context of an evidence-based model of treatment foster care for children and their families, using a trauma-informed approach.

EssentialFunctions:
  • Provides comprehensive, Medicaid compliant, assessment of client's therapeutic needs.
  • Develops individualized, Medicaid compliant, treatment plan, in conjunction with TFC team, child and family. This process must also take into consideration the reasons the child/family are involved in the child welfare system, past and current safety and risk concerns, and the permanency/step-down/service plan for the child/family and allows all members of the team to submit Medicaid billing.
  • Provides direct counseling and therapeutic services to children in the Treatment Foster Care program as indicated by the assessment and treatment plan.
  • Therapeutic interventions will include supportive therapy for the child, behavioral management interventions with the child, prosocial skill development, school-based interventions/support, and applying principles from social learning theory, developmental psychology and trauma informed care.
  • Completes and submits all required reports, documentation and Medicaid billing accurately and timely as required by agency and funding sources. Includes completion of written session notes and reports detailing clients progress as required by applicable policies/procedures and/or when required by juvenile court.
  • Demonstrate professional, positive behavior and carry out responsibilities with integrity, treating clients, families, other LSSI workforce members, and collaborative organizations and/or individual in a dignified, respectful, honest and fair manner.
Position Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in the Human Services field is required.
  • Holds the licensed clinical social work (LCSW) credential or its equivalent OR is eligible for a clinical license and working toward completion.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, both verbally and in writing, including completing documentation in organization's Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
  • IM+CANTS certified or available to participate in training and certification.
  • Training in Treatment Foster Care of Oregon (TFCO) model, or available to participate in TFCO training after hired.
  • Certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), or available to participate in TF-CTB training and certification.
  • Experience providing services using a team approach; demonstrated ability to motivate children, their families, and foster parents to participate in a highly detailed treatment model preferred.
  • Knowledgeable of DSM-V and its applications.
  • Background check clearance, both criminal and CANTS.
  • Excellent organization, presentation and pc/computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) along with other related software.
  • Valid driver's license, in good standing for the state of residency required.
  • Access to reliable transportation.
  • Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage, bodily injury and property damage required.
