Responsibilities

    Assist in conducting vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits of Department of Education systems to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Provide Plan of Action and Milestone (POA&M) support to include logging and tracking of POAMs and providing information upon request to system stakeholders
  • Gather and document business requirements through interviews, workshops, and other techniques
  • Analyze business processes to identify opportunities for improvement and automation
  • Develop process flows, data models, and other documentation to clearly communicate findings and recommendations
  • Assist in the planning and execution of the program, including tracking timelines and reporting on progress
  • Develop and maintain security documentation, such as policies, procedures, and standards


Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of experience in information security or related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Security Certifications (e.g., Security+, Network+)
  • Experience with cloud security concepts (Service and Deployment Models)
  • Knowledge of government IT regulations (e.g., FISMA, FedRAMP, NIST)
  • Experience with Cyber Security Assessment and Management Application (CSAM)

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field

Clearance:

  • Must be eligible to hold a Public Trust government issued security clearance

Location:

  • Remote, USA

Salary Inforamtion:

  • The pay for this position ranges from $67,400 to $77,500
  • The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location
  • Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as bonuses
