Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
UNC World View is a public service program of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, established in 1998, that equips K-12 and community college educators with global knowledge, best practices and resources to prepare students to engage in our diverse and interconnected world. We have official partnerships with more than 80 community colleges, K-12 districts and schools across the state and beyond. We work closely alongside educators at every grade level and discipline through the UNC World View Global Education symposia, workshops, Teacher Student Initiative and Global Education Leadership Program. UNC's faculty and vast global resources empower all educators to bring the best in global content to their classrooms. Our programming is dynamic and responsive, especially in changing times. UNC World View is committed to supporting educators as together we prepare the next generation of global leaders.
Position Summary
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.

The program coordinator promotes and markets UNC World View's professional development programs. The program coordinator serves as writer, media professional, event planner, and understands the value of global education. The position is responsible for information management, assembly of mailings, educator inquiries, correspondence, mailing materials, data compilation, and tech backup. The program coordinator processes evaluations and provides credit for programs. The program coordinator performs duties that are essential to the success of the programs, including researching and writing news articles, and writing reports. The program coordinator creates social media content for different platforms and stays connected to our partners. The program coordinator also supports the director, associate directors, and assistant director in duties related to meeting logistics, payments, orientation materials, and general office needs. The program coordinator coordinates the Council of Advisors stakeholders meeting.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office products, familiarity with Wordpress, Adobe Creative Suite with knowledge of InDesign, and mass marketing software. Excellent editing and organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively are essential. Must be able to report to work reliably. Work schedule is M-T-W in person on campus from 8am - 5pm; and Th-F remote 8am - 5pm.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
World View prefers a highly organized individual with a background/interest in global education, program administration, and communication. The individual should be committed to World View's mission of working with K-12 and community college educators to develop a global perspective. Candidate should possess a professional demeanor for working with faculty, administrators, and educators.
