Position Summary
This position supports the research, project, and grants management for Dr. Zev Nakamura, LCCC Member and Assistant Professor in the UNC Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Nakamura's focus is to improve neuropsychiatric outcomes in patients with cancer. Dr. Nakamura is currently leading studies to test medication and behavioral interventions to improve cognitive outcomes in patients with cancer.

This position will serve as an Associate Clinical Research Coordinator within the Department of Psychiatry. The Associate Clinical Research Coordinator is responsible for the execution of clinical research protocols, including leading efforts in gathering, compiling, and reporting data for a variety of research studies.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Must be able to use considerable judgement and skills in performing work assignments. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to work and communicate with diverse populations effectively and professionally. Ability to work independently as well as function as part of a team. Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Knowledge in an interdisciplinary field that may include natural, social, and humanities field of studies not limited to Psychology/Psychiatry, Public Health, Sociology.

Candidates with the following are encouraged to apply: managing multi-site or multidisciplinary research projects; study recruitment, consent, and interviewing research participants with a medical diagnosis or chronic illness; conducting literature reviews; grant writing; basic quantitative data analysis using Excel, R, Stata or SAS; building surveys and databases through Qualtrics and/or RedCAP, preparing reports to funding agencies; preparing and managing research budgets; preparing and submitting manuscripts for publication; preparing reports and applications to Institutional Review Boards (IRBs) and Data and Safety Monitoring Boards (DSMBs), and in-depth knowledge of and facility with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Ability to communicate with a variety of individuals in clinical settings, including patients, caregivers, and clinical staff. Ability to communicate professionally, clearly, and respectfully with individuals by phone, virtual conferencing (e.g., Zoom), in person and by electronic messaging and mail. Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects through organization, time management, and proactive prioritization with Supervisor and Team.
