Quality Inspector

Description

Leidos Defense Systems Sector Aerospace business area currently has an opening for a Quality Inspector to work closely with our Hypersonic Program. We deliver differentiated solutions, product and services to our customers. We design, integrate, deliver, operate and provide full life cycle sustain technically advanced missile systems.

Primary Responsibilities

• Inspect component and assembled parts.
• Must be able to read and understand assembly instructions.
• Write Non-conformance and start investigation to root cause.
• Read and understand technical documents (Drawings , Specifications, Test procedures, etc.)
• Create and compile the Acceptance Data Packages for customer approval of build assets.
• Prepare and maintain AS9102 reports, inspection records, quality documentation, and discrepancy reports.
• Operate CMM measuring and GOM Scanning Equipment to tight tolerances utilizing GD&T and embedded model dimensioning.
• Participate in corrective action process.

Basic Qualifications

• Candidate must possess a High School diploma/GED with3 years of relevant Quality Inspection experience.
• Must have knowledge and understanding of how to read and interpret drawings.
• Must have knowledge and understanding of how to efficiently use micrometers, height gages, gage blocks, radius gages, calipers and other measuring equipment typical to a manufacturing environment.
• Must have experience in an ISO9001/AS9100 manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to populate handwritten or computer-generated inspection reports.
• Must have practical computer skills and experience using software such as Microsoft Office.
• Must be able to work a full-time with minimal supervision and the ability to adjust priorities based on workflow.
• Must be willing to travel to customer sites to perform quality inspections, as necessary.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
• Candidate must be a resident of the Colorado Springs area or willing to relocate to the Colorado Springs - Monument - Pueblo, CO area.
• Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess or meet the eligibility to obtain (and be able to maintain) a Secret Security Clearance.
