Vaco is seeking a Medical Coding Educator for a full time, direct hire role. Travel required in tri-state area. Remote role but must be local.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Coding Education program for physicians and coding specialists.
  • Provide ongoing education on ICD-10 and HCC coding for healthcare professionals.
  • Conduct training sessions and offer technical support regarding clinical documentation guidelines, charge capture, and coding standards.
  • Analyze coding audits and feedback to identify areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate educational opportunities for direct-care providers to ensure compliance with professional coding requirements.
  • Prepare and deliver quarterly and annual updates for the coding team.
  • Establish an annual compliance summary based on audit results and provide feedback to providers and practice leadership.
  • Stay informed of the latest coding standards and regulations to ensure proper implementation.???????
Requirements:
  • Coding Certification (CPC or equivalent) is required.
  • E&M (Evaluation and Management) Coding experience is REQUIRED
  • 3-4 years of experience in a professional healthcare setting.
  • Minimum of 3 years of coding and auditing experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication skills for group and individual training sessions.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel to different physician practices for coding education and training.
  • EPIC knowledge is a plus.
