Base Salary Range $110,000 to $140,000

To that point, we have an exciting opportunity for a Product Line Manager (PLM) who will lead the strategic and operational efforts to drive the success of the red dot product line within the company. You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of the products, including market research, product development, marketing strategies, pricing, and lifecycle management. The PLM collaborates closely with engineering, sales, marketing, and other cross-functional teams to deliver products that continue to outperform, out-inspire, and outlast all others in the field.

What You'll Be Doing as a Product Line Manager 3:
- Product Strategy Development:
- Define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the product line based on market analysis, customer feedback, and business objectives.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats.
- Prioritize products and their enhanced feature sets based on customer feedback, competitive analysis, and business objectives.
- Product Lifecycle Management:
- Oversee the entire product lifecycle from concept to end-of-life.
- Create and maintain a 5-year Product Line Roadmap.
- Develop and manage go-to-market plans for product launches.
- Regularly assess product performance vs. opportunities, gaps, and emerging trends to define adjustments in the product line strategy.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Define and communicate product value creation opportunities through the collection and analysis of market drivers and customer needs.
- Collaborate with engineering and R&D teams to translate product features into specifications aligning with customer value.
- Work with marketing and sales teams to create product positioning, messaging, and promotional strategies.
- Ensure that products exceed market expectations for quality by collaborating with departments to define quality standards in performance, durability, and reliability.
- Ensure seamless communication across departments and resolve conflicts or issues as they arise.
- Financial Oversight:
- Accountable for product line P&L, including revenue targets, pricing strategy, cost control, and return on new product investment.
- Conduct financial analysis and forecast product sales to guide business planning.
- Monitor key product line performance indicators (KPIs) and adjust product strategy accordingly.
- Customer Focus:
- Engage with customers to understand their needs and pain points.
- Serve as the voice of the customer within the organization and ensure the product line meets customer expectations.
- Support customer engagement initiatives, including product demonstrations, user feedback, and post-launch evaluations.
- Competitive Analysis:
- Continuously monitor competitors' products, market positioning, and strategic trends to adapt product offerings accordingly.
- Identify opportunities for differentiation and improvement based on competitor benchmarking.
- Leadership & Team Management:
- Provide leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams to deliver products on time and within scope.
- Lead or participate in product development and innovation projects to explore new opportunities or improvements.
Skills and Experiences You'll Need as a Product Line Manager 3:
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, advertising, or technical field. 5-7+ years progressive experience in the marketing / product line management function of a consumer product company with a global, multi-channel sales environment. Master's degree preferred.
- Formal training / certification in brand, category, or product line management is strongly preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of the assigned product category. In-depth knowledge and experience in shooting sports, hunting, firearms, or associated optics applications is required.
- Well-developed strategic planning and analysis skills. Highly quantitative, metrics driven and analytical.
- Strong leadership, presentation, communication, decision making, problem solving, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across functions to achieve outcomes that support business objectives.
Work Environment for a Product Line Manager 3:
Normal office environment with occasional travel and exposure to manufacturing operations.
