Position Summary |
The Prospect Development Analyst is a member of the Advancement Operations staff, reporting to the Director of Prospect Management and Research. The position supports fundraising efforts by identifying, researching, and rating prospective University constituents (i.e., individuals, corporations, and foundations) using on-line databases and other sources of information. Conducts database queries and data analysis in support of prospect identification, qualification, and management. Prepares detailed profiles and reports using Microsoft Word and Excel. Assists in maintaining prospect tracking database, reviewing fundraising staff documentation for prospect management updates, and implementing other prospect data projects as assigned. Works closely with a core group of fundraisers to meet their prospect research and data analysis needs. |
Minimum Qualifications |
FOUR-YEAR DEGREE IN A DISCIPLINE RELATED TO THE FIELD ASSIGNED AND ONE YEAR OF RELATED TRAINING OR EXPERIENCE; OR EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE. ALL DEGREES MUST BE RECEIVED FROM APPROPRIATELY ACCREDITED INSTITUTIONS. |

Preferred Qualifications |
- Two years of research and data analysis/management experience.
- Experience in prospect research and management within an academic, nonprofit, corporate, or consulting environment.
- Experience working with CRM platforms.
- Experience with Ellucian Banner.
- Knowledge and understanding of fundraising and donor relations concepts, principles, techniques, procedures, and practices.
- Knowledge of key information resources, including biographical, news, financial, corporate and government sources.
- Strong client service orientation and follow-through.
- Collaborative style, combined with the ability and desire to work in a team-based environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills to interact effectively with fundraisers and staff, and to prepare prospect reports.
- Excellent judgment to deal with and disseminate confidential information.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office suite of products, including Excel and Word.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize work, and manage multiple, diverse, and competing priorities while meeting deadlines.
