The Domestic Tracked Product Manager is a leadership position with direct reports that is responsible for providing training/development, organization, direction and guidance to the employees responsible for execution of the portfolio. The portfolio largely consists of the following current and future efforts: current vehicle platform (Abrams) engineering development, production support, and sustainment activities. In support of this portfolio, the selected candidate will lead and manage a team of engineers that operate in roles of product managers, project leads, chief/deputy chief engineers and IPT leads.

Responsibilities:
- Train and develop direct reports
- Manage departmental workload and execute necessary hiring actions
- Work with program office and business development to win emerging opportunities within the portfolio
- Represent the portfolio and department to GDLS leadership and our clients as necessary
- Review and approve all engineering bids within the portfolio
- Conduct performance management activities IAW GDLS processes
- Provide direction and guidance to the team of direct reports in the following areas:
- Generate and execute project plans and integrated schedules
- Establish funding mechanisms to facilitate work scope (eg, BCRs, WADs)
- Forecast and maintain project manpower demand file
- Establish & utilize metrics to drive and monitor project performance
- Manage project personnel and vehicle logistics
- Facilitate and support technical and programmatic events
- Lead vehicle system-level design, integration, build, and test activities
- Communicate direction and guidance to stakeholders that deliver technical products
Requirements
- Minimum of Bachelors degree in Engineering or (Mechanical, Electrical, Systems preferred but other degrees will be considered with relevant experience).
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience
- Proven ability to establish and maintain effective customer relationships
- Demonstrated ability to form and lead teams
- Experience in leading design, development and integration of complex systems
- Proven leadership skills and competencies
- Ability to assess technical risk and develop corrective actions and/or mitigation plans
- Must have excellent analytical, planning and problem-solving skills
- Must have strong oral and written communication skills
- Must have excellent business acumen and negotiating skills
- Ability to travel as needed
- Project Management experience required
- This position will require eligibility to obtain a US security clearance. (Non-US Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance)
