About the Role:

General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS) is looking for an exceptional Network Engineer's to join our team. This role is instrumental in deploying, operating, and scaling high-performance Cisco route/switch and wireless networks, managing Palo Alto Firewalls, remote VPN access, and deploying cloud technologies providing world-class availability, performance, and security. You'll provide worldwide network support within a small, collaborative team that strives to ensure 99.9% network reliability. This is a hands-on role shaping the future of how GDLS purchases & deploys networking for both employees and partners. The ideal candidate is passionate about technology, self-motivated, keeps up on the latest technologies, has good communication skills and wants an opportunity to play a foundational role in delivering outstanding IT support of greatest land-based vehicles the warfighter requires.

Responsibilities to Anticipate/Expect:
  • Analyze current and upcoming business / application requirements and present clear concise design solutions
  • Develop and deploy Enterprise Network infrastructure standards
  • Experience working within industry standard change management processes
  • Build and maintain network documentation to include Visio Diagrams
  • Design and implement short- and long-term strategic plans to advance services and ensure capacity meets existing and future requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain global policies, procedures, and associated training plans for infrastructure administration.
  • Participate in the development of IT strategies in collaboration with global colleagues and the leadership team.
  • Conduct research and make recommendations on products, services, protocols, and standards in support of all infrastructure procurement and development efforts.
  • Conduct site surveys of new and existing sites and develop suggestions and plans to improve connectivity, data flow, and design.

Position Requirements:
  • Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN experience (expertise preferred)
  • Cisco Certified Network Administrator (or industry equivalent)
  • 7 - 10 years' experience
  • This position will require eligibility to obtain a US security clearance. (Non-US Citizens may not be eligible)
  • Familiarity with Cisco Enterprise environments
  • Expertise with Cisco Identity Services Engine (Cisco ISE)
  • Experience with Network Access Control, 802.1x, Security Posture and Profiling
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.


Additional Information:
  • Occasional travel required (<10%).
  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and to handle other computer components.
  • Occasional inspection of cables in floors, closets and ceilings.
  • Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as servers and peripherals.
