Overview
The pharmacy technician will participate in advanced roles in all practice settings to expand the scope of pharmacist practice, promote efficiency, and improve patients access to care. Individuals in this position will demonstrate a high level of competence and skills in building professional relationships with other members of the healthcare team. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or GED required Graduate of a pharmacy technician program preferred Three years of pharmacy technician experience CERTIFICATION LICENSURE (RETAIL TECHNICIAN) Pharmacy Technician Certification Board required CPR or BLS certified ACPE Accredited Immunization Training Certification Illinois Licensure required, if employed in Illinois Wisconsin Pharmacy Technician Registration required, if employed in Wisconsin CERTIFICATION LICENSURE (SPECIALTY TECHNICIAN) Pharmacy Technician Certification Board required Illinois Licensure required, if employed in Illinois Wisconsin Pharmacy Technician Registration required, if employed in Wisconsin. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Passing the Drivers License Check and or Credit Check (for those positions requiring). Passing the WI Caregiver Background Check and or IL Health Care Workers Background Check. Must be able to follow written oral instructions. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Good interpretive analytical skills for medication dosage calculations Basic computer skills Good interpersonal skills WORK ENVIRONMENT Occupational Exposure: Category A - All partners in the specified job classification have occupational exposure. LEVEL OF SUPERVISION Work requires a moderate level of independent judgment along with good interpretative and interpersonal skills with justification and accountability to Clinical Pharmacist, Pharmacy Supervisor, Manager, and or Director. |
