About the Position The Travel & Procurement Specialist is part of the team who are collectively responsible for all procurement, travel, and training reservations for MCAO. This position secures hundreds of flight and hotel reservations for victims/witnesses who are testifying in court, makes travel arrangements for detectives who are investigating active cases, registers employees for specialized training each year, and purchases many different goods and services for the organization. We Require
- Two years of purchasing-related experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Post-secondary education may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis
We Also Value
- An Associate's degree or higher in Accounting or a related field
- Experience making travel arrangements in a professional setting
- Experience in public-sector procurement
Job Contributions
- Administer, coordinate, and process all travel arrangements for out-of-town victims, experts, and eyewitnesses to ensure they are present to provide testimony during trial
- Administer, coordinate, and process all investigative travel arrangements for employees and accompanying law enforcement professionals
- Register employees for non-County sponsored training and make travel arrangements for out-of-town events
- Maintain purchase documentation, including logs for all inquiries, to support purchases in accordance with County and departmental requirements
- Processes payments with a county-issued P-card or credit card
- Coordinate and administer all office supply purchases for the department
- Regularly review online financial systems for current P-card activity to verify accuracy, make necessary corrections, and research discrepancies
- Initiate post-travel reimbursements
- Coordinate, administer, and process procurement of goods and services in accordance with the County procurement code
Working Conditions
- Must have the ability to obtain CAPA certification within three months of hire
- Must currently possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver's license at the time of hire
- The Maricopa County Attorney's Office requires a thorough background check of all successful candidates and is authorized to test prospective employees for the presence of illegally accessed drugs. Drug testing is conducted once an offer has been extended and before placement
- Mostly office setting in high volume, fast-paced environment
- Requires extended periods of sitting while completing computer activities
- May be required to drive a personal or County-owned vehicle to travel to and from various County locations
