We Require
Five years of experience in an inspection-related field Experience reviewing and approving temporary traffic control plans High school diploma or GED Post-secondary education may substitute for the experience requirement on a year-for-year basis Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire Must possess or be able to obtain the following certifications within two years of hire:
American Concrete Institute (ACI) Concrete Field Grade 1 American Public Works Association (APWA) Certified Public Infrastructure Inspector (CPII) Arizona Technical Testing Institute Certifications (ATTI) American Traffic Safety Services Association (ASSTA) Supervisor

Job Contributions
Plan, manage, and direct Inspectors' daily activities; plan, prioritize, and assign tasks and projects; train and coach staff; monitor work, develop staff skills, and evaluate performance; advise staff on workload and technical issues Perform various project functions, including coordinating and referring technical activities with inspectors, contractors, utility companies, survey crews, material testing labs, consultants, developers, and engineers; conduct and attend technical, preconstruction, and partnering meetings to review project plans, progress, and activities Respond to requests for information; review and correct errors in documents and reports; interpret and explain Federal, State, and County rules and regulations. Analyze project issues and interpret complex policies, rules, regulations, and laws; provide technical assistance and recommendations to project participants as required; analyze project designs to ensure basic engineering principles are followed Ensure maintenance of project databases and inspection records Perform complex field inspections and evaluate the effectiveness of project plans and work performed; inspect projects for compliance with plans, specifications, and Federal, State, and County standards; conduct pre-construction and final walk-thru inspections Interpret policies, procedures, and guidelines and may develop recommendations for compliance; review test reports and engineering certificates
Working Conditions
Exerting 20 - 25 pounds occasionally, 10 - 25 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds constantly Incumbent may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, vibrations, fumes, odors, dust, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, intense noises, and travel The work will occur in an office and field environment. While performing the duties and responsibilities, the employee may be exposed to loud noise, noxious odors, unsanitary conditions, chemicals, electricity, moving mechanical parts, varying weather conditions, and other related conditions and situations.
