Description

As the Sales Representative, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining national and regional key and target accounts. You will work directly with the Laboratory Director and Senior Management, and other key ESS Laboratory and Thielsch personnel, to undertake sales and marketing functions within a defined region. This role will require daily travel within RI, MA, NH, and CT.

In concert with Laboratory Director and other key ESS Laboratory and RISE personnel, you will develop regional business development plans, including implementing effective strategic marketing and sales programs and/or plans, gathering research data for targeted strategic industries, acquiring information on competitors services, analyzing and interpreting local market reports, and developing an effective marketing plan to offensively overtake our competition.

* You will work with Project Management staff to maintain sales and marketing management systems which include proposal logs, customer contact information, and call reports.

* You will take part in sales and marketing meetings with key personnel to review sales and customer activity and discuss any new information relating to the marketing of ESS Laboratory services.

* You will be responsible for promoting the company and advance own skills by participating in industry specific technical, business or trade associations.

* You will identify opportunities for ESS Laboratory staff to prepare and deliver presentations to clients and professional societies.

* You are responsible for meeting and exceeding new business sales goals; as established and modified periodically by the Laboratory Director. Such goals may be achieved by maintaining and growing existing accounts or developing business from new customers, with emphasis to be determined by senior management.

* Assist in training new or less experienced members of the sales team.

* You will need to work with Laboratory Director and other key personnel to establish and execute sales initiatives and objectives in accordance with ESS Laboratory policies and procedures.

* You will prepare business, strategic, and action plans as required by the Laboratory Directory

* Undertake market research activities as needed to identify and quantify new markets.

* Adhere to budget for sales and marketing staff.

* You will work in conjunction with the Laboratory Director to achieve adequate profit margins and sales volumes as required to maintain profitable operations.

Qualifications

BA/BS degree in Business, Marketing or a technical discipline related to the environmental field is preferred

* One year of technical and/or sales and marketing experience desired

* Sound knowledge of business and financial management

* Proven problem solving and analytical skills

* Excellent customer service skills (internal and external), Strong Team player

* Strong oral and written communication abilities

* Must possess an uncompromising commitment to overall quality

* Knowledge of environmental regulations such as CERCLA, RCRA, CWA, CAA, SDWA, etc. is preferred

* Knowledge of laboratory operations is desired
