GENERAL FUNCTION
Performs a variety of technical support and administrative duties under the general direction of the Facility Security Officer (FSO) or their designee.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The following statements outline the general scope of work and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of duties:

  • Receives, researches, and responds to requests; provides necessary information, guidance, and follow-up as needed.
  • Administers the Access Control Plan, serving as the primary point of contact for visitor control; assists in implementing the access control system and ensures timely issuance of employee, visitor, and subcontractor badges.
  • Maintains an electronic library of security-related materials, including the Defense Information System for Security (DISS); retrieves and processes visit requests in DISS.
  • Assists with internal reviews and inspections related to the National Industrial Security Program (NISP), Special Security Agreement, and/or Export Compliance Program; supports Human Resources with applicant approval processes.
  • Supports company meetings and special events as directed.
  • Assists in implementing and maintaining corporate policies, security standards, and procedures for internal and external customers.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Familiarity with NISP, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and export compliance is highly desirable.
  • Administrative experience with Department of Defense (DoD) personnel security programs or the ability to quickly learn these processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe PDF, and related software.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records, generate timely reports, and manage electronic systems efficiently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment and meet physical security requirements in shipyard or outdoor manufacturing settings.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE & TRAINING

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with a combination of relevant experience, education, and training.
  • Experience in implementing security programs or equivalent education and experience that demonstrate the required skills and abilities.
  • Experience maintaining electronic records and researching security-related policies and procedures.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
