Overview

Come Find Your Spark at Quartz! Quartz seeking an ETL Developer to join our Enterprise Data Management (EDW) Team. This position will collaborate with members of the Team to develop and deliver ETL (Extract, Transformation, and Load) applications using data warehouse design best practices. This role will also analyze data requirements, complex source data, and target data models. The ETL Developer is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of ETL processes for the EDW (Enterprise Data Warehouse), data marts, and outbound data delivery. This position will also document data flows, provide supporting documenting, and communicate impact of changes and required development to technical and non-technical staff.

The ETL Developer will utilize the following skills on a regular basis:

    Proficiency in SQL development
  • Operational Support of production and monitoring processes, including being part of on-call rotation
  • Collaboration and communication skills to work in a team environment with other Enterprise Data Management Teams (Analysts, testers, and other developers)

Responsibilities

  • Translate data movement requirements into technical ETL design.
  • Develop ETL workflows and mappings to extract, transform, and load data into target environments.
  • Develop test plans and perform unit testing of own work.
  • Create supporting documentation for new ETL processes.
  • Identify opportunities for improving efficiency and effectiveness of processes and controls.
  • Use standard ETL toolsets to develop and test ETL workflows.
  • Work closely with data analysts within Data Warehouse Team to gain an understanding of the business processes and corporate data.
  • Determine impacts of data warehouse structures and information flows due to changes in business or technical requirements.
  • Perform, root cause analysis, and contribute to the remediation planning and implementation.
  • Perform data quality analysis, report data quality issues, and propose solutions for data quality management.
  • Participate in on-call rotation (after hours, nights and weekends).


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field with 2+ years of relevant Information Technology experience*
  • OR Associate degree with 5+ years of relevant Information Technology experience*
  • OR High School equivalency with 8+ years of relevant Information Technology experience*
    • *Relevant Information Technology experience is defined as industry standard ETL software or equivalent data integration processes, normalized relational databases and dimensional data warehouse implementations, complex SQL query development, and translating business and data requirements into technical solutions.
  • Proficiency in ETL tools (Informatica PowerCenter, SSIS, IBM InfoSphere DataStage, Pentaho, Talend or similar)
  • Experience with Python is preferred
  • Proficiency in SQL development preferably on multiple database management platforms
  • Working knowledge of data warehousing concepts, data structures, and ETL best practices concepts
  • Intermediate experience with query tools (BusinessObjects, Cognos, MS Query or SAS) is very beneficial
  • Effective problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and delivery results in a timely manner
  • Ability to understand and discuss technical software issues with others
  • Ability to work independently, under pressure, and be adaptable to change
  • Effective interaction with external and internal parties, including vendors and contractors
