Job Overview: The Field Service Technician is responsible for the safe, reliable and efficient operation of nitrogen producing plants in the South Portland, ME area. This is a challenging yet rewarding job that requires sound technical abilities in the primary on-site product lines, along with knowledge and abilities in instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems. The Field Service Technician must demonstrate initiative in handling issues. The Plant Technician will also be on call and required to respond as needed. Occasional overnight travel is expected with this position. Scope: Employees in this role will solve field site issues, maintain and operate the air separation plant, as well as have customer interaction on a variety of production plant types. The plants are located at customer sites and are typically less than an hour drive from the home location. The technician works with minimal supervision and has primary responsibility for their assigned locations. The technician is supported with supervision, lead technicians, engineers, sales and other technical support. Occasionally the technician will travel to support locations outside the assigned areas and may be asked to assist in training and development. The technician makes decisions which require coordination of interrelated tasks. The employee develops conceptual solutions to moderately difficult, non-routine issues/problems and provides guidance on technical support for projects. Strong communication skills are required both written and verbal. Primary Responsibilities:
