JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The College of Earth and Mineral Sciences seeks a Facilities Representative to support the Department of Materials Science and Engineering operations. This position will begin in February 2025.

The Facilities Representative will have a broad range of responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact or liaison with OPP for facilities maintenance, repairs, and alterations; monitor charges and work performed; investigate and report building problems; direct emergency maintenance repairs.

  • Coordinate the development of renovation and new construction projects.

  • Identify needs and seek funding from OPP for preventive maintenance, routine and major maintenance, energy/utility conservation, and environmental compliance issues; assist with developing facilities renewal program.

  • Assist with selecting and coordinating internal and external engineering and architectural resources and other professionals for projects.

  • Control receiving, inventory, and proper usage of various types of equipment and inventory.

  • Serve as department/college/unit representative on ongoing initiatives and committees; may serve as University representative as necessary.

  • Oversee equipment in compliance with Property Inventory.

  • Resolve issues related to space assignment, laboratory usage, and safety.

  • Maintain working knowledge of relevant facilities functions, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and air and water quality.

  • Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate assigned staff employees.

Education and Experience

Requires a Bachelor's Degree and three or more years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills and proven ability to manage multiple priorities.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$61,800.00 - $89,600.00
