We have an opening for a Coordinator, Competitive Intelligence in our New York office.

The Coordinator, Competitive Intelligence supports Paul Hastings' global business development efforts, assists in delivering intelligent research and in identifying new potential business opportunities, supports pitches, analyzes market trends, and tracks target and competitor activity.

In this capacity, the Coordinator, Competitive Intelligence will:

  • Assist in performing in-depth market and competitive research on key companies, individuals, and industry sectors to support strategic growth initiatives;
  • Prepare reports and summaries based on research into a partner ready deliverable;
  • Actively track industry movements and emerging trends across multiple sectors to surface new business opportunities and strategic leads;
  • Research and prepare biographical information on potential clients;
  • Leverage advanced research platforms-such as Lexis, Capital IQ, Lex Machina, MergerMarket, and other third party databases-to deliver accurate, data-driven insights; and
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with business development and marketing, attorneys, research services and other key stakeholders to support practice initiatives and strategic projects.

Proficiencies:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with intermediate Excel capabilities including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data visualization tools;
  • Highly analytical with strong critical-thinking skills; adept at transforming complex data sets into clear, actionable insights;
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, enabling effective communication and collaboration across teams and stakeholders;
  • Team-oriented professional with a client-focused mindset, consistently demonstrating professionalism and a collaborative spirit;
  • Inquisitive, with a talent for connecting dots and synthesizing diverse information into cohesive narratives;
  • Organized, with a proven ability to juggle multiple priorities and deliver under tight deadlines in fast-paced environments; and
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, enabling effective communication and collaboration across diverse teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required (emphasis in research, law or business preferred); and
  • At least 2 years' experience of research or business development experience in a professional services or law firm (preferred).

The salary wage range that we expect to pay for this position is a minimum of $63,200 and a maximum of $79,100 annually. The actual pay wage may vary based on experience or other relevant factors.
