PURPOSE

Manages sales, supply chain and sales support activities related to an assigned product or product line, including inventory, purchasing, delivering, and service in order to maximize revenues and profitability, especially in relation to competitor products. Conducts comparative analysis against competitors and provides strategic planning of product direction and features. Coordinates the promotion of the Framing Hardware product categories to the Contractor Trades.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES






    1. Responsibilities include, growing sales and managing and growing a solid customer base, while working with existing accounts and new customers by promoting framing hardware related products to General Contractors, Custom Home Builders, Framers, and other related Sub-Contractors.




    1. Develop and sustaining sales relationships with key job site personnel, responding to customer inquiries and providing information or products as requested.




    1. The individual in this position is responsible for effectively organizing their time and will need to able to handle multiple tasks.




    1. Identify and respond actively and with sensitivity to the needs of all customers and to participate as a team player in all phases of the organization.




    1. Work with existing BFS Lumber Sales Reps on managing the sales, delivery coordination, jobsite management and deliveries where needed on hardware products.




    1. Responsible for the preparation and presentation of pricing and quotes.




    1. Provides accurate and timely support to the outside sales team, members of the inside sales team and/or to customers.




    1. Monitors scheduled shipping dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite, as needed.




    1. Investigates customer complaints or concerns. Relays customer concerns to others on the sales team and assists in investigating the issue. Resolves issues within company guidelines. As needed, escalates larger concerns to more experienced sales team members for resolution.




    1. Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or coworkers. Attends periodic safety meetings as required. May recommend changes to improve safety procedures.




    1. Plans and manages sales efforts; oversees or initiates optimum purchasing schedule.




    1. Visits customers on job sites to initiate sales and provide technical and customer support.




    1. Monitors inventory and coordinates purchase and receipt in addition to arranging for service, warranty activity and delivery.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Business Management or related field and five (5) years product sales experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Strong knowledge of construction industry
  • High level of self-motivation
  • Ability to think strategically, forecast and drive sales
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent presentation, negotiating, and influencing skills
  • Ability to use tact and skill in dealing with other staff, management and vendors
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and an enterprise resource planning (ERP) program
