Description
Direct Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF) response during emergencies, including aircraft alerts, fuel spills, and aircraft hangar incidents. Direct the planning and execution of 14 CFR Part 139 including exercises and events. Ensure the adherence of current NFPA and ARFF regulations as necessary to maintain 14 CFR Part 139 certificates. Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local fire, rescue, and life safety codes. Develops departmental SOP's/SOG's, works with local fire departments and emergency response agencies to support the airport emergency response plan. Responsible for training and maintaining records for ARFF personnel as outlined in part 139.319. Ensures ARFF apparatus/equipment is in a ready state and required agent testing is conducted as outlined in part 139.319. Must be self-motivated and provide teamwork principles to ARFF employees. Responsible for hiring ARFF employees, counseling, performance appraisals, scheduling, and preparing budgets.
