Sr. Accountant

The senior accountant is responsible for centralized accounting functions within Smart Care's $300M Climate division head office, directly supporting the divisional controller. This process-oriented individual will work through standardizing and centralizing month-end activities and managing the accounting for transactions within the division's head office cost center (Zone Climate Contracting). We are seeking an organized leader who is comfortable in a fast-paced environment for a growing company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Directly support divisional Controller
• Month-end close procedures (journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis, etc.)
• Presentation of monthly financial results to the Controller with explanations around key drivers and period-over-period fluctuations.
• Support annual financial statement audit requests
• Journal entry and reconciliation review
• Intercompany bookings and reconciliation
• Percentage of Completion accounting for the entire division (monthly calculations and review)
• Payroll Processing
• Cash and accounts payable management, including payment processing to vendors
• Recording of vendor invoices

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a finance, accounting, business or a related field
• Understanding of Percentage of Completion accounting preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Self-motivated and both detail and process oriented
• Proven analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong critical thinking and decision making skills
