The Operations Technology Product Owner - Field Service and Fleet Systems is responsible for leading the strategic direction, development, and optimization of our Salesforce Field Service and Samsara platforms. Reporting to and working closely with the Operations Technology Manager, this role will define, own, and communicate the product vision while ensuring that the prioritization of work aligns with business objectives. Additionally, the Product Owner will manage two direct reports who serve as Salesforce Field Service Administrators, ensuring their work supports the platform's goals and objectives. Travel: up to 25% Location: Fully remote, must live in the continental US. Salary range: $100k - $110k plus an up to 10% annual bonus opportunity
- Product Ownership & Vision: Works closely with Operations Technology Manager to define, own, and communicate the product vision and roadmap for Salesforce Field Service and Samsara applications. Partner with users to ensure their needs are represented in product development, from initial planning through deployment.
- Business-IT Translation: Serve as the primary liaison between business teams and IT, translating operational needs into technical requirements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. Shield the delivery team from outside disruptions, such as scope changes or shifting priorities, to maintain consistent project focus and efficient execution.
- Project Management & Execution: Lead and manage projects with a focus on achieving measurable ROI. Coordinate project timelines and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives, prioritizing impactful projects and managing scope effectively. Write user stories to guide development for owned systems and collaborate with IT BAs to properly define requirements.
- End-to-End Process Definition & Training: Develop and communicate comprehensive end-to-end processes, ensuring proper training is provided for new features to maximize user adoption and operational success.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with operations, IT, engineering, and IoT teams to support cross-functional projects that enhance Service, Fleet, and Fleet Safety workflows, ensuring cohesive and integrated end-to-end solutions.
- Backlog & Release Management: Own and prioritize the product backlog, make decisions on release scope, and set timing and goals for sprints. Regularly groom the backlog to ensure alignment with business needs.
- In-Person Requirements Gathering: Conduct in-person requirements gathering through up to 25% travel, including ride-alongs and on-site collaboration with users and supporting teams. Focus on staying current with evolving business practices, performing real-world gap analyses, and capturing requirements.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of Salesforce platform capabilities.
- Knowledge of Samsara systems, including fleet and asset management tools.
- Demonstrated ability to gather and document requirements, prioritize initiatives, and manage a product backlog.
- Experience in Agile methodologies and product lifecycle management.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Preferred
- Salesforce certifications (e.g., Salesforce Administrator, Field Service Consultant).
- Highly preferred experience in logistics, transportation, or field service industries.
- Familiarity/exposure with IoT and telematics solutions.
- Preferred proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role managing Salesforce Field Service and/or Samsara.
