Role and Responsibilities:


No experience required! RW Solutions is looking for a dependable and motivated Utility/Maintenance Worker to join our team. You'll help keep kitchen equipment, plumbing, and facilities in good working order by performing routine maintenance and minor repairs. Your work will ensure a clean and safe environment for staff and guests.



  • Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, including ovens, fryers, grills, and refrigerators.

  • Ensure the proper functioning of plumbing systems (e.g., sinks, dishwashers, grease traps).

  • Perform minor repairs on kitchen appliances and equipment as needed.

  • Regularly clean and sanitize floors, walls, and other surfaces in the kitchen and dining areas.

  • Maintain and clean ventilation systems, exhaust fans, and hoods to ensure proper air quality and safety.

  • Take out trash and recyclables, ensuring proper disposal according to health and safety regulations.

  • Assist with restocking cleaning supplies and kitchen utensils.

  • Ensure the proper storage and maintenance of all cleaning tools and chemicals.

  • Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and organization of storage areas (e.g., dry storage, walk-in coolers).

  • Maintain outdoor areas by sweeping, removing debris, and ensuring safety around entrances and exits.

  • Assist in cleaning and setting up for special events or large group bookings.

  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues (e.g., plumbing leaks, electrical problems).

  • Ensure all safety equipment, like fire extinguishers and first aid kits, is accessible and in good condition.

  • Help with snow or ice removal from exterior walkways, if applicable.

  • Adhere to health and safety standards, following food safety protocols in all cleaning tasks.


Qualifications:



  • No experience, No Problem!

  • Previous experience in a maintenance or utility role, in a restaurant or food service environment (Preferred)

  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment and appliances maintenance (Preferred)

  • Ability to perform minor repairs and troubleshoot common kitchen issues (Preferred)

  • Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, tools, and safety procedures.

  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Physical Demands:



  • Spend long hours on your feet, walking or standing while performing maintenance tasks.

  • Must be able to lift and move heavy items, such as cleaning equipment, trash bags, and maintenance tools (up to 50 lbs).

  • Frequently bending, kneeling, or squatting to clean equipment, fix plumbing, or inspect areas.

  • Perform repetitive tasks like cleaning, mopping, or using tools.

  • Handle and operate various tools, equipment, and cleaning supplies.

  • Use ladders or step stools to clean or maintain hard-to-reach areas (e.g., ventilation hoods).

  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment for long shifts.


Environmental Demands:



  • Work in hot environments, especially around cooking equipment and ovens.

  • Exposure to loud sounds from kitchen equipment like dishwashers, fryers, and ventilation fans.

  • Work in wet areas, including kitchens, restrooms, and floors that may be slippery or wet.

  • Exposure to cleaning supplies and chemicals; must follow safety protocols when handling.

  • Work in confined spaces, such as under sinks, inside kitchen equipment, or storage areas.

  • Work in different temperature zones, from hot kitchen areas to cooler storage areas or outdoor tasks.
