Position Summary: The Loan Compliance Officer develops, administers, and monitors programs that ensure bank compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and rules governing the bank lending operations and product offerings. This role is eligible for hybrid work from home opportunity under the work from home guidelines up to one day per week upon completion of onboarding.

Essential Functions:



  • Interpret and implement regulatory requirements, including new and existing requirements, effectively working with applicable departments in conducting risk assessments and developing controls to mitigate regulatory risk for the bank lending operations and product offerings.
  • Coordinate with Compliance Review Specialist to ensure effective testing processes within lending functional areas to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Serve as a resource to Bank personnel regarding daily lending compliance questions and issues. Review and identify compliance deficiencies in procedures, contracts, agreements, advertising, and applicable documents or disclosures.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of changes in lending-related bank policies, new products or delivery channels to ensure risks are appropriately identified and mitigating controls are implemented.
  • Oversee the administration of the Bank's Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA), Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), and Fair Lending programs.
  • Work closely with lending departments to remain in contact and aware of issues and provide guidance on initiatives in order to mitigate risk. Work with department managers and staff to identify compliance and risk issues and implement efficient solutions.
  • Support the bank's platform software(s) and other systems in regard to lending document compliance, enhancements, and internal controls.
  • Maintain working knowledge of regulatory requirements by researching regulatory law, recent or proposed changes, guidance and interpretations.
  • Understand and adhere to all bank policies, laws and regulations applicable to their role. Complete compliance training and follow internal processes and controls as required.
  • Report all compliance issues, violations of law or regulations in accordance with the steps defined in bank policies.
  • Perform other responsibilities or special projects as assigned.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.


Qualifications:



  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance related to lending compliance.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Business Administration with courses in Compliance/Risk Management preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years compliance/audit experience required, including experience or knowledge of compliance and legal issues.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products, existing bank hardware/software preferred or demonstrated ability to learn quickly.
  • Valid Nebraska driver's license.

Working Environment:

Indoor work - not exposed to outdoor elements or hazards.

Some sedentary work and occasional lifting and/or carrying up to 20 pounds.

Occasional travel required.
