POSITION SUMMARY: DAWSON is currently seeking applicants to fill our phlebotomist positions located throughout the state of California in support of medical readiness services for the California Army National Guard (CAARNG). Work is primarily on weekends, with some occasional weekdays, at varying sites throughout California. All work is a part-time "as needed" basis. We provide health readiness services to meet the medical and dental requirements to maintain a deployable military force for the CAARNG.
- Hourly Pay Range: $18.88 to $28.04 based on experience
- California Phlebotomy Technician 1 Certification
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes quickly
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Event set up, take down and maintenance of workstation equipment
- Provide phlebotomy services/blood draws, including specimen handling, and labeling
- Work collaboratively with providers, registered nurses, medical assistants, and administrative personnel
- Safeguard all soldiers' information
- Ensure all actions follow HIPAA and other appropriate federal and state laws and regulations
- Complete trainings and education/certifications as required
- Follow applicable contractual requirements stipulated by the client and DAWSON
- Provide electrocardiograms (EKG) as requested
QUALIFICATIONS:
- CPR/BLS Certification
- California Phlebotomy Technician 1 Certification
- Have a valid US driver's license
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Excellent customer service skills and experience interacting with challenging clientele
- Utilization of universal precautions for patient care and blood handling
- Minimum 2+ years' experience in a medical setting performing phlebotomy services
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes quickly
- Ability to concentrate for lengthy periods and perform accurately with adequate speed
- Must submit at least two professional references with resume
- Must be collaborative and solutions oriented
- Experience working in a military setting and working knowledge of the regulations and policies that apply to Individual Medical Readiness (IMR) and deployment is preferred
- 2 or more years' experience providing 12 lead electrocardiograms preferred
- Basic computer knowledge and skills
