THE JOB:

It is the primary responsibility of the Director of Hotel Sales to oversee and guide the performance of assigned Sales Managers, ensuring the achievement of team sales goals. In addition to team oversight, the Director carries an individual sales target, leveraging their expertise as a veteran sales professional. This position is tasked with developing and maintaining comprehensive sales plans and strategies aimed at achieving set targets through tailored individual account plans and solutions. The scope of team oversight and goals will vary depending on the property and team assignment. All duties must be executed in accordance with the departmental policies, practices, and procedures.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • The Director of Hotel Sales is responsible for working with clients in advance to secure sales, then ensuring the successful follow-through to plan and implement their needs.
  • This includes actively creating awareness and selling goods and services by attending trade shows and other industry functions. The Director also attends customer events on and off property, including site inspections, to engage directly with clients.
  • In collaboration with catering and convention services, the Director ensures seamless operations for all programs. They play a key role in the development and monitoring of marketing strategies aimed at driving both short-term and long-term profitability.
  • The Director provides input into the research, development, evaluation, and implementation of new products, services, technologies, and processes, ensuring the property maintains a competitive edge and meets the evolving needs of customers in the dynamic hospitality and gaming environment.
  • The Director manages responsibilities for their department, including fostering a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction. They are also responsible for quality hiring, training, and succession planning processes that align with the company's commitment to diversity.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Over 4 years of relevant experience with a strong track record in hotel sales, business development, and customer retention.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, drive results, and manage relationships both internally and externally.
  • A bachelor's degree in Hotel or Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and strategic thinking to meet company performance goals and deadlines.
  • Skilled in driving new business opportunities while maintaining and growing relationships with current clients/customers.
  • In-depth knowledge of hotel sales strategies, market trends, and competitor analysis to achieve sales targets.
