Asst Dir I, Acad Student Serv

The Assistant Director is part of a dynamic team in the Carl R. Ice College of Engineering Academic Success Center. This position serves as a leader of student success in the college. This position will oversee daily operations of the Scholars Assisting Scholar (SAS) Peer Tutoring program as well as other programs related to student success across the college. This position is pivotal to creating a welcoming environment to students as over 1,000 unique students visit SAS tutoring each year. This position reports to the Assistant Dean for Retention, Diversity, and Inclusion and is based on the Manhattan campus.

Responsibilities include:

- Recruit, train, and supervise student employees

- Coordinate the Scholars Assisting Scholars Peer Tutoring Program

- Identify, support, and connect at-promise students

- Work closely with the Assistant Dean in data collection, reporting, and grant applications

- Support the General Engineering program and the common first year experience

Minimum Qualifications:

• Requires a bachelor's degree and three to five years of relevant experience. This position may use an educational equivalency as determined relevant by a hiring manager. Educational equivalency means that education and experience may be combined to fulfill the minimum qualifications. Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field
• Experience working with diverse students
• Understanding of barriers to degree completion commonly faced by college students
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment
• Strong organizational skills, and an ability to work independently and within groups
• Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.) as well as other data management software
• Experience supervising college students
