Payroll Specialist (AA) Part Time

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

  • Anesthesia Invoices
    • Anesthesia 1099 CRNAs & Anesthesia Physicians - for hours worked each month
    • Anesthesia Employed Physicians/CRNAs - for additional shifts/shift differentials owed
    • Verify rates and hours are billed appropriately per contract terms
    • Enter into Check Request System - rates per hour/per provider are different, requires precise entry that is in line with contract terms
    • Track invoice totals broken out for each hospital on worksheet, send to finance team once entries are complete
  • MPA/MSPA Provider payments
    • Monthly entry of ER Call and Medical Directorship payments
    • Transfer is received at the end of each month from hospital, required to save each individual timesheet w/ hospital call schedule (received from hospital finance in one large document)
    • Enter payment into Check Request System
    • Track payment on worksheet
  • MPA/MSPA Provider payments
    • Providers are eligible for allowance reimbursements for CME/Dues expenses - receipts are provided any given day
    • Complete allowance tracker worksheet - which tracks allowance spend annually
    • Enter into Check Request System

Additional Duties:

  • Perform Kronos and check requests for the CRNA/MDA invoices
  • Process and transmit payroll every two weeks

Qualifications

Education

  • High School Graduate or equivalent.

Work experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in payroll with primary focus on speciality areas, such as Anesthesia.

Knowledge

  • Understanding of Healthcare terminology, processes and workflow of patient accounting in order to make good decisions and resolve account issues.
  • Healthcare (professional) billing, and the ability to answer and process billing inquiries, changes, reimbursements, and reconciliations.
  • Knowledge of third-party payers.

Skills

  • Strong computer literacy skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Record or equivalent billing software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills required.

Abilities

  • Ability to read and analyze payer-billing requirements.
  • Complete understanding of electronic billing and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documentation, CPT, and modifier coding requirements.
  • Ability to answer and process billing inquiries, changes, reimbursements, and reconciliations.
