DEA is currently hiring a Project Accountant to oversee our Oregon Project Accounting team and support the Puget Sound team with monthly billings. This position is located in our Portland, OR office.

Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:



  • Ensuring accurate, complete, and timely data entry
  • Contract and project setup reviews
  • Work with project managers and project coordinators on project billings
  • QC the work of others for compliance with policy and contracts
  • Filing (mostly electronic)
  • Assisting with reconciliation of accounts
  • Monitor and adhere to accounting deadlines
  • Assist with preparing, balancing, and filing of certified payroll and prevailing wage
  • Duties are performed under limited supervision and require the ability to resolve issues of varying complexity by exercising independent judgment.

  • Ability to focus and meet deadlines; and
  • Great customer service skills.


Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or 5+ years of job cost accounting experience
  • Computer knowledge: Microsoft Office Suite including strong Excel skills with the ability to use formulas.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics SL
  • Experience with an architectural, engineering, and construction firm (AEC)
